THE CRYSTAL WORLD OF SWAROWSKI

It’s magical, fascinating, hypnotic, filled with fantasy and wonder.

In 1995 the Swarowski Crystal World was established in celebration of 100 years of Swarowski. Crystals as art, fashion, illusion, design and architecture. Some of the finest binoculars in the world are created here. Take the family, be dazzled and learn some Tyrolean history. A 40 minute car drive away.

MUSEUMS IN ALPBACHTAL

The Museum of Tyrolean Farmhouses

Take a trip back in time. See how the mountain farmers lived and worked in days gone by. 14 original farmhouses have been relocated to this open air museum in Kramsach.

Tyrolean Mining & Cottage Industry Museum

The history of regional mountain industry. Here you can marvel at the scarce, everyday objects and learn about the arduous conditions under which precious treasures were mined from the mountains, long before the help of technology.

Alpbach Mountain Farm Museum

You can find out how craftsmen and mountain farmers used to live in the old farm “Vorder-Unterberg” in Inneralpbach. The farm was inhabited until 1952 and houses about 800 utensils and furnishings from rural life at that time and also some animal inhabitants.

Augustiner Museum

Filled with religous Tyrolean works of art dating back to the 9th Century. Displayed in the historical rooms of the Augustiner Cloister founded in the year 1385

Museumsfriedhof Kramsach

Over 100 grave crucifix’s dating back tot he 9th Century have been lovingly collected for their humour and candid approach to death. (German speakers only)

Schloss Tratzberg

A jewel of the Renaissance period. It has been lovingly kept in all its glory by Graf Ulrich Goëss-Enzenberg, whose lineage dates back to the Empress Maria Theresia. 500 years of history recorded for adults with a second version for children. Headphones and a guided tour take you back in time.

When the weather is not so kind, or you need a change of pace choose to visit one of our local towns or cities.

Alpbach

The only Tyrolean village with a traditional building practise, adding to its particular style and beauty. The only exception is the Congress House with its technological and modern requirements. Beautifully designed and compatible with its surroundings. Outstanding Tyrolean beauty and excellence – Alpbach just a hop, skip and a jump through the main door!

Rattenberg

With approximatley 400 inhabitants and built across 10 hectares of land, Rattenberg is the smallest town in Austria. Dating back to the 10th Century the history is tangible in its architecture, 2 beautiful churches, thorugh the cobbled streets and to the fortress ruins. Famous for the art of glassware, and a fabulous Christmas market, it is very much worth your time.

Innsbruck

Busy, beautiful, charming, the capital of Tyrol is filled with history and culture, and surrounded by spectacular mountain peaks. A bustling thriving town; modern shopping enclosed in historical buildings. The Golden Roof in the old town, the last Kaiser’s Hofburg with it‘s Hofkirche, and the Bergisel Ski Jump, designed by Zaha Hdid and remains one of the more important venues in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup.

Kufstein

Sitting proud above the town is the exceptional Kufstein Fortress which now serves as a museum and place for the arts. The Helden Organ, with its 4,498 pipes is the largest of its kind in the world. Every day at 12 noon the organ plays filling the old town and beyond with its magical sound. A thriving community, embracing all that is Tyrol.
